How to send a good text message

Let’s face it. No one uses the phone to actually call people anymore. The art of seduction clearly lies on how well you can use your thumbs to send distracting little notes to the object of your affection. Here are some ways to make your texts really pop!
1) Keep it short.  There’s a helpful little character counter in most phones message centres. The longer you type, the longer it’s going to take them to read, and you don’t want your work of art broken up into two or three separate texts, do you?
2) Keep it snappy. Stick to the point of your message. If you’re asking someone out, just say, “Hi, would you like to meet on Wednesday? Was thinking about going to a movie.” That’s easy to reply to as well.

3) Keep it personal. You want your text to stand out? Add a little touch showing that you’ve been thinking of them. A personal joke or anecdote maybe. Like, “I can’t stop thinking about the way you ran through security at the airport just to tell me you loved me.” Okay, maybe not that, but you get the idea.
4) Keep it  readable. Yes, I’m sure you’re sick of people telling  you to say, P-E-O-P-L-E instead of “ppl” and Y-O-U-R instead of “ur”, but there’s a very good reason for this rule. Most people associate good typing and spelling with classiness. Send a message with all the words spelt out and the correct grammar and we guarantee you they’ll be impressed. Money back if it doesn’t work.
5)  Don’t obsess. Whenever we (and this holds true for men AND women) like someone, we want to talk to them. We want to be around them all the time. We want to stop what we’re doing and reply to them immediately, even if we’re in the middle of the  busiest day of the year. Okay, it may not always be possible to do that, but remember, if they like you, they’ll be in touch as much as you are.

What are your favourite text messages you’ve sent or received? Post them in the comments and we’ll feature them in an upcoming post!
