Live-in-Relationships
There was a time when dating in India was considered to be a taboo. In many regions, it still is. But gradually there has a been a paradigm shift. Dating has become a common phenomenon these days. And today our uber cool generation has taken it forward in the form of live-in-relationships. Popularised by the west, this arrangement allows couple to stay together without getting married. This is a big decision and in case you are also thinking of shifting together, you should consider few steps.
  • Are you comfortable with sharing your place? Is your partner compatible with your habits and financially sound to share the expenses?
  • When you two start living together, you might feel to think about the future from here. Please do not confuse between marriage and live-in-relationships. Both are separate. Common the partner is just sharing the apartment with you. Always remember that.
  • Staying together might increase the chances of getting into frequent arguments. Please be aware of that.
  • You might want to watch Sex and the City where as your partner might want to watch IPL at the same. Does your interests match?
Your partner has a different friend circle. Would you disturbed if they are invited?
  • Cleanliness is something which is also often ignored. Do gauge your partner on that.
At this point of time it is difficult to predict whether live-in-relationships are really successful in our country. But I am sure if the scenario of dating in India has seen a drastic change, the modern concept will also evolve with time.
